The Golf Courses at Incline Village Win NVGCOA AwardSep 5, 2007
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Kayla Anderson PR/Marketing Coordinator (775) 832-1120, Kayla_anderson@ivgid.org The Golf Courses at Incline Village Win NVGCOA Award Incline Village, NV- The Golf Courses at Incline Village were recently notified that the Nevada Golf Course Owners Association named them the NVGCOA Golf Course of the Year! The Golf Courses at Incline Village include the Mountain Course, a Robert Trent Jones, Jr.-designed, 18-hole par-58 (a favorite among locals), and the Championship Course, a Robert Trent Jones, Sr.- designed, 18-hole par-72 course. The NVGCOA considered both courses as one for the award. The NVGCOA has over 100 golf courses located in every region in the state of Nevada and the Golf Courses at Incline Village were in great competition with 50-55 other NVGCOA-member golf courses. It’s a great honor that the Golf Courses at Incline Village excelled above them all! “One of the big areas for judging [the golf courses] is growing the game and Incline Village really stood out this year as top-notch courses,” said NGCOA Executive Director Ted Tylman. The golf courses were judged based on the following criteria: exceptional quality of the course, exceptional quality of the ownership and management, outstanding contributions to the community, and significant contribution to the game. Tylman says that one of the big areas of judging rely on growing the game, and the Golf Courses at Incline Village had many different programs that help grow the sport of golf and contribute to the community. The Nevada winner will be recognized at a state meeting and at the annual NGCOA Solutions Summit. The course will also be submitted to NGCOA for consideration for National Course of the Year.
