Golfweek Magazine has recently named the Championship Course one of the "Best Courses to Play in 2011." Golf Week has given us this award for FOUR years in a row! 2008-2011! Golfweek readers vote on what courses are the best to play state-by-state and the number of courses chosen per state varies based on course supply, population and level of play.
Championship Course Named Top Ten "Best in State" by Golf Digest Magazine
Two seasons after a $13-million renovation, the Championship Course at Incline Village has been named to the " Best in State" list by Golf Digest Magazine. Long recognized as one of Lake Tahoe’s premier golf courses, the Championship Course can now proudly call itself one of the top ten best courses in the state of Nevada. John Nosek of the Golf Courses at Incline Village - 2010 AGM Top Retailer
The Association of Golf Merchandisers (AGM) honored the winners of the "Front Nine Awards" during their recent retail conference held in conjunction with the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL.
John Nosek, manager of golf operations at the Golf Courses at Incline Village, was named the 2010 AGM Top Retailer, and also captured the award for the best customer service idea. This is the second time that John has been awarded the industry-coveted AGM Top Retailer status.
“Having been named an AGM Top Retailer in 2008 was a career moment for me,” stated John. “Being selected again for doing what I love is just unbelievable.”
The AGM "Front Nine Awards" recognize members who have created successful golf merchandising programs and ideas for their retail operations.
“The mission of the AGM is education and one of the most important benefits of this initiative is the ability to share the creative information and ideas among our international membership,” said Desane Blaney, AGM Executive Director.

The Golf Courses Win NVGCOA "Golf Course of the Year" Award
The Nevada Golf Course Owners Association (NVGCOA) named the Golf Courses at Incline Village the NVGCOA "Golf Course of the Year" - 2007 & 2008!
The NVGCOA has over 100 golf courses located in every region in the state of Nevada and the Golf Courses at Incline Village were in great competition with 50-55 other NVGCOA-member golf courses. It’s a great honor that the Golf Courses at Incline Village excelled above them all!
Incline Village Golf Courses Ranked One of Golf World’s 100 Best Golf Shops
The Golf Courses at Incline Village have been ranked as one of Golf World’s 100 Best Golf Shops in America. The Golf Courses at Incline Village are absolutely thrilled with this award and strive to make the Incline Village Golf Shop the best that it can be. This was the first national award recognition the Golf Shop has received.
One of the major contributions to receiving this award is the Golf Shop’s involvement with the golf professionals to grow the junior golf program. Over 100 junior golfers participated in the 2007 program and the Golf Shop added new vendors with products specifically for juniors, selling 31 sets of junior clubs, creating a trade-in/trade-up program and adding excitement for future growth. The shop helped to encourage the parents and grandparents to join the juniors in family golf, getting many who have never played or visited the Golf Shop before to be more active participants and customers.
Championship Course is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary
The Championship Course at Incline Village has achieved designation as a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary" through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, an Audubon International program. Jeff Clouthier, course superintendent, has led the effort to obtain sanctuary status on this course and is being recognized for Environmental Stewardship by Audubon International.
To reach certification, a course must demonstrate that they are maintaining a high degree of environmental quality in a number of areas including environmental planning, wildlife & habitat management, outreach and education, chemical use reduction and safety, water conservation, and water quality management.
Tahoe Traveler Magazine Names the Mountain Course "Best Course for Women"
The 2008 summer edition of Tahoe Traveler named the Mountain Course the "Best Course for Women." It states, "Ladies will love Women's Golf Week, June 6-15, featuring free clinics and a fashion show. Bring the next generation to Take Your Daughter to the Course Week, July 7-13, for free chipping clinics, play-with-a-pro and other activities. Additionally, Wednesdays throughout the summer, women can enjoy "Six After 6," six holes and a short clinic, followed by appetizers at the clubhouse for only $29."
Tahoe Traveler Magazine Names the Championship Course "Best Driving Range"
About the driving range, Tahoe Traveler states, "Space restrictions make it tough to find a practice facility in the mountains, but two stand out. Incline's Championship Course offers 28 often-occupied stalls."
Golf Courses at Incline Village Win "Best Soft Goods Display" Award by the Association of Golf Merchandisers
On January 16, 2008 in Orlando, FL the Association of Golf Merchandisers presented the Golf Courses at Incline Village with the 2007 AGM "Front Nine Award."
"The AGM 'Front Nine Awards' recognizes members' work and ideas that are creative, inventive, successful and most important, profitable," stated AGM President, Ken Morton, Jr.
The Golf Courses at Incline Village received the "Best Soft Goods Display" by creating eye-catching exhibits with soft goods professionally presented. The soft goods display resulted in more pieces sold and a larger revenue from one style of product.
Mountain Course is a Certified Audubon Sanctuary
Audubon International has designated the Mountain Course as a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.” Superintendent, Shaun J. Riley, led the effort to obtain sanctuary status on the course and is being recognized for environmental stewardship. The Mountain Course is the third in Nevada and 498th in the world to receive the honor.

Mountain Course Named on "Top Short Courses in America" List by Golf Range Magazine
Golf Range Magazine recognized the Incline Village Mountain Course as one of the “Top Short Courses in America” for 2011 for the sixth consecutive year! The magazine published the top short course list in its May/June issue. The criteria for judging included layout and design, customer service, community outreach and community involvement. Golf Range Magazine editorial staff and freelance writers chose the winners from a pool of self-nominations and nominations that came from a variety of other golf industry resources.
Best In Tahoe Golf
The Incline Village Mountain Course has also been nominated for many years as “Best in Tahoe Golf,” by Tahoe locals, in the North Shore and Truckee Action, and has been recognized for customer loyalty by the National Golf Foundation for three consecutive years - 2004, 2005, 2006.
PGA America Recognizes the Golf Courses at Incline Village for Supporting PGA Professionals (2006)
The PGA of America awarded The Golf Courses at Incline Village with a certificate of recognition for the support the golf courses have provided to the PGA professionals efforts to develop players in conjunction with the PGA "Play Golf America" campaign.
TRPA Best in Basin Award
Tahoe Regional Planning Agency’s 2006 "Best in the Basin" award was received for the Mountain Course parking lot retrofit project. This project featured a more streamlined parking traffic design, utilized an infiltration gallery, as well as a conventionally retentions basin, both for storm water treatment. IVGID Engineering did the design & construction management and the Golf Grounds Department handled the landscaping which included re-planting a hundred trees.
2006 ELGA Chapter Winner
The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA)/Golf Digest Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards (ELGA) recognized Jeff Clouthier, CGCS, for the Golf Courses at Incline Village.
